This image is an enlargement/remake still from animation made for the EON-Trailer challenge.
The idea was to create a location that was as remote as possible for setting up a piece of some alien hardware. Most of this image is hand painted over height-map reference rendering. I used lot of photos of mountains and volcanoes as guides. Only object purely modeled is the portal itself.
